New Japanese WW2 Sword... Opinions please.

I picked up a WW2 sword at the airshow in Reading this past weekend.

Pics are below but before we get started I want to say I cant remove the handle as I havent been able to find the wood dowel that holds it all together... it may be under the wrap(?)

This is only my second sword so any opinions are appreciated.

Hmmm i'm sorry to say i'm not happy with this sword fact that the buttons are marked HK for hong kong is a start, the leather looks red/brown like the fake bayonet frog's that are so often found on fake bayonets, the stamps on the brass colar are a bad sign as well. I'n my oppinion it has all the tells of a chinese copy ( the tassle on the loop and the small belt hanger are also bad signs). but better photos might show somthing else (the lack of menuki is bad as well as they should be easily exessable).
