No, I didn't win it. The auctioneer said the sword went for $1600, the helmet went a little over $900.00 , maybe he was confused.

Yup,it was reveresed...The sword was 900 and the helmet 1650...I almost fainted when It passed 1300. Dont get me wrong it was an absolute superb example, but anywhere past 1000 for a supppper mint one I think is going a little nutty. Atleast right now in the market of helmets and all.

and at least one of the chinstrap ends was cut

I kind of remember them both being cut...my dad pointed it out right away thats why I remember. Just for kicks,any idea what the kanji said?
