hey guys, i recently was given a japanese sake bottle from a friend of mine The bottle came off a japanese troop transport. In the 70's a diver picked up about 12 of these bottles from a wreckage of a japanese troop ship. when he passed away his son sold them to a ww2 collector who then gave 2 to my friend who gave 1 to me as a gift. It is a brown color with japanese marks on the top and bottom of the sides and a mark on the bottom. There is still some dirt and sand cacked on the lettering but it is a real beautiful bottle. I will be getting the information on which ship it came off of and where it was sunk emailed to me soon. I will be posting pics soon too and would love to hear ure opinions on it but right now my camera is dead so bare with me. best regards -justin

Is it a sake or beer bottle? Looks more like a beer bottle to me. I have a couple I picked up in the "weeds" while in Guam. Surprising what still lays around out there if you look for it.
Truk Lagoon (now Chuuk after a name change) is a GREAT dive location if any divers are out there, a bit expensive to get to, but well worth the trip. It is considered a marine sanctuary now and removing items off any of the wrecks is strictly forbidden and don't get caught!! Some nice "field trips" into the hills as well as some Japanese gun emplacements are still there, or were back in 1993.
