Unfortunately, I've tried to do that before, when Cupman sold me a uniform, and when I got my money back through paypal dispute, he took off the rank tabs (the reason I had originally disputed originality), added new ones, and sold it the next week as a new "original set".

and Ebay just doesnt care. If this were Nazi gear, ebay might do something, maybe, but for some reason they just dont care. Why else do you think that, week after week, over 60% of the items on the Japanese WWII items on ebay are those Chinese made, fake shinguntos.

Ebay should stop the chinese fakes at least.

With his nearly flawless feedback, I doubt ebay can do anything.

To ban him from ebay, a lot of people will need to find other auctions of his and prove he creating fakes. Others will have to report this auction too (I will do it also).

I remember in another forum for Chinese coins, a bunch of members reported several fake Panda bullion coins. A seller with over 1000+ feedbacks was banned.

I also can not believe this crook has perfect feedback!! He must sell to newbies or closet collectors. I'm tempted to request we all send him links to this post. If I can help in any ebay battles let me know. This seller deserves an ass whooping. These fake flags are just the tip of the iceberg...his fake anchor stamps, put together groupings, out right chinese fakes etc. I've seen him ruin genuine items by stamping his famous stamps all over them.

          Hard to believe...

It's hard to believe that so few buyers of his stuff has reported negative feedback. I can only assume most of them simply don't know the stuff they are buying is altered. Too bad these buyers don't know about this website and the gunboards site. When I see people bidding on fakes I almost want to email them warning them....(They probably wouldn't believe me anyway, so I don't bother.) Ebay as we all know hides the identities of bidders so there's no way to contact them and ask questions or offer warnings. I've been collecting Militaria since my mid teens, that is 25 years now. I never saw flags marked like his before Cupman showed up on eBay. He sells so many of these heavily ink stamped flags. I truly believe all of them are bad. His attempt to write Japanese Characters is very bad and a dead give a way.

The interesting things about that flag is that nowhere on the flag does it say Yamamoto, and the guy that is selling it is from Japan. I would expect that he at least knew how to write Kanji in correct proportion. Also, I'm always surprised when I see these bright white and red flags. No fading after 70 years? And what is that smear of ink? Well, i hope for the sake of the buyer it doesn't sell.

                Doesn't surprise me

Really, the characters for Yamamoto arn't actually written on the flag? It doesn't surprise me.

                Apparently Cupman3 has an apprentice...

I bought a "japanese major" uniform set from him when i was very new to collecting. 400 dollars. Got my money back through paypal dispute. When I returned the set to him, he took the jacket in set, took off the rank tabs, and resold it the following week as a "captains" jacket set. He took the "officer's field hat" (which i suspect was just a nice civilian helmet with added star) he had sold me and put it in a "colonel's set" that was sold for 800 dollars in december.
