    Could anyone help translating the inscription on this sword? Thank you.

    出羽守助重 Dewa no Kami Sukeshige. Enpo Era 17th C smith.
    I'm a bit hesitant on the mei authenticity though.

        I am with Edokko on this one. The kanji strikes me as odd. It doesn't have the flow that you normally see with older writing. The short punches with the chisel to write the characters and the measured characters just don't seem right.
