WAF member Edokko was kind enough to identify this wooden box I found in a trash can a few months ago as follows:
"The box used to contain ring sights for the Type 92 Flexible Machine Gun Rev.1, made at the Toyokawa Navy Arsenal back in 1942."
I was thinking of taking this to the military show next month in Orlando. Can anyone please give me a ball park estimate as to a fair price. I would like to sell it and the two maps I also found and donate the funds to a worthy cause. I collect german identity documents and really have no concept of a fair asking price for these items. As well as, i would prefer they go to a Japanese collector who would have a good home for them.
Thanks for the help.
