I saw that as well....This is a classic example why I lreally hate ebay sometimes....If you want to keep buisness you dont do stunts like this guy pulled...I never have done buisness with him in the past, but after some on this site had said they got some killer lids from him I was going to jump in head first for the 2nd naval helmet..I will remember this in the future...as he has lost me as a customer as well as my money in his wallet

Interesting helmet now that you mentioned it. I really like how the name on the helmet is my last name.
As for Japnutt, if he wants a certain amount for a japanese helmet put a reserve on the thing and keep it on ebay. The same thing happens with German helmets all the time...someone pulls it out from under someone else. Wonder when Japnutt will pull his next helmet off ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

He has pulled off helmets in the past that I was bidding on, usually he does it not too long after listing them. They are his auctions, so he can do as he wishes. I guess if someone offered me some outrageous sum through an email, I'd probably consider ending an auction too.

And that Marine helmet didn't look like any big loss, to be honest.

Big surprise...He pulled the next helmet off today. I guess he just uses ebay for advertising, not auctioning.

I see he's got a repro net up for auction?? Are we sure about the rest of his stuff??
The way he does business nobody gets to see the end of an auction or any of the goods in hand!!

              Regards

Actually it was a fellow board member who I thought got it, as I know he was trying to re-unite the named cover with his same named helmet..apparently it is still in negotiation. I have gotten helmets from Sheldon several times from him ending the auctions early, as have other members here..doesnt hurt to try, and I have done the same for Sheldon in the past, on some helmets I had listed on Ebay. No big deal, it happens all the time. Todd

After reading Jareth's post it is only right that the cover & helmet get reunited.
If you read the German forums, breaking up groupings happens all the time to make more money and it is really sad.

Grrrr, I was following that auction for the USMC helmet. It had a nice jungle liner...rats, oh well.

As far as offering the sellers a "buy it now" price for them to end the auction early, put it this way: If you don't, I guarantee ten others will.

I emailed him today just for laughs and he said the helmet was for sale at 5200.00...
