    Finally I got one.........

    Hi,
I have been looking for a nice exampel of the navy kyugunto p. 1914 for long time. And finally I got it. Straight from Japan.
It has a shinto blade in perfect polish mounted, its not signed.Only by the polisher.Silver foiled brass habaki. It also has garvings on both sides, a ken and 2 short "bohi".
It has a mon on the backstrap and Im trying to find the officer.(I get back to that later, when I have some more time.)

    Sorry for the poor pictures.

Hello mates and happy new year to all.
                      Thanks for Your replys

                      About the mon on backstrap:
I think I have found the owner , it could be Matsunaga Sadaichi (1892-1965)

                      http://pwencycl.kgbudge.com/M/a/Matsunaga_Sadaichi.htm

How big is the chance that it has been his sword?

This sword has a nice used patina ,but not battlefield use patina.Looking at the link to his service history ,I think it would match.????????
