Greetings everyone...ive had this one for alittle bit and found something intrigueing tonight as I was looking it over. First let me tell you a little about it. The helmet was a straight up 100 percent bringback. Shrapnel had flown threw the back of the helmet and sadly most likely ended the life of the soldier wearing the helmet. The helmet must have flown right off the soldiers head. and the ties are still in the original tied form. This really gives the helmet an extra characteristic to it. The helmet must have flown into some mud as its caked on the inside as well as a lil on the outside. Ironicaly the other items the US soldier brough back are caked in mud at well which probally means that the souveneirs came from the same dead soldier. Looks like the star on the front must have fell off,I have no idea how because the rongs are still fastened to the inside of the helmet and you can see the part that attached to the star in the front hole.
Now what really has me curious is the markings I found around the painted kanji for the size of the helmet. I know that the S in the diamond is a manafactuer.....I do not know what the mark is next to that and Im COMPLETLY baffled of why there are actually numbers stamped into the metal right about it. Looks to be 3 2 2 3 .... I have never seen this but my quess is the MFT had there helmets marked this way? Hopefully someone can fill me in on this? Thank you very much in advance ...I hope you enjoy that pics and hope you all have a great week.
