Japanese ID Bracelet??

Has anyone seen one of these before? Is it some type of bracelet dogtag?

Made of brass. Any translation help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what it is, but clearly nothing to do with the military. In general, Japanese men did not wear rings and bracelets until after the war. It appears to have the first name of a man, Yasuo followed by 40. If it is a first name, it must have been a present from a woman as Japanese first names are only used within the family or in similarly informal relationships.
