    Is this visor for real, or Nakata Shoten?

    Saw this item on ebay.

    Looks very minty but curious about it. Original or repro? Did officer's use Romaji names instead of writing kanji? Any comments?

    Probably THE most common Japanese cap. It's an original army officer's cap. Most officer's had two kanji embroidered as a label & stitched in interior dome.

      pre-1940 hat based on the romaji. even private manufacturers were using english on their labels for military issued gear, until the gov't told everyone not to. I think better close up pics of the name, and sharper pics in general would be more helpful in that auction...
