Greetings all!
After stoping at a local auction I ended up coming back with a Grouping to a WW2 USMC marine and a small bunch of items the vet brought back that he glued onto a cardboard and framed as well I came home with an early model naval dirk. I carefully took the items off of the cardboard so they are not just rotting away(anyone with any ideas about getting the glue off, should I just used a tad bit of water?). The naval dirk is kind of interested because of the true relic shape its in...i think it has more characther that way. I am curious to why where the gold part of the area are it looks like maybe it was painted white a whileeeeee ago. Did they do this in the field for any reason? I am also curious to what the heck the two metal tabs are that look like the tabs usually found on wooden japanese boxes of WW2. Hope you enjoy looking!!
