Its an Army shell and liner. The photos in the Ebay listing show the interior apron of helmet has white painted Kangi symbol for "large" size" . This was only done with IJA helmets. Liner also Army. I would guess the painted anchor is post war applied. Ive never seen any painted anchors, other than the typical late War stencilled types. You can also plainly see the shadow of the metal Army star "behind" the anchor. Todd

Thanks, I missed this helmet at a local estate sale, before it was put on ebay.
