    Japanese binoculars???

    Hello forum...

I was wondering if these are Japanese... and a rough idea as to value.

They are stamped TKO... or something like that... and appear to be Japanese to me.

I saw them at a show... and got these photos... and they are pricey... but... want to make sure I am doing okay... if I buy them.

    Thanks for the help.... Robert

look like shipboard binocs to me. tko is a jpn maker. Eddoko is the expert in this area. seems to be missing the rubber eye cups...how's the view?

Anti-Aircraft spotting binoculars and yes they are Japanese. As for value....they are all over the place. I think buy them because they look cool then realize finding the mount for them is impossible.

                  Thanks guys...

                  he wants $1000 for them...

If they were a few hundred... I would buy of course.

The lens are about average. If they were worth $1500 or more... I would take a chance.

                  thanks for the help... Robert

                  PS

                  Yes... they look real cool.

They are over priced in my opinion. The optics should be excellent ( wihich is seldom the case with old optics ) to bring full value and it also looks like these have been repainted several times, although maybe period done. The rubber eyecups are gone, but this is expected. Even if they were still on, they would be dried and warped.

                      Thanks for the help...

I will avoid them... unless he comes way down to about $500.
