Opinions on Red Cross Member medal

Being rather new (read that as seriously green) when it comes to Japanese items, can I please have some opinions whether the following would be considered an original Red Cross Members medal from the WWII era. From initial comparisons it does seem to be marked as the Meiji 21 type and combined with the paper type box, I would guess it is accurate. But I am far more comfy in the German area at this stage so any comments will be appreciated.

Original medal; looks good but, these were manufactured in different metals as time (and the war) progressed. Some were in silver, some in aluminum, and I think some in a silver/nickel (?) base metal.
