Question regarding a cap

Wondering if anyone knows what this cap is, and if it is even Japanese! Any comments/opinions are appriciated. Thank You.

the badge looks similar to, but not exactly like, the Osaka fireman badges. There were a lot of para-military groups also operating during the war. Schools also had their own insignia.

Could be something interesting or something ordinary. Thanks for posting and I hope the answer will come out.

I agree it looks Japanese & it's missing it's chinstrap. As for the badge, I've never seen it before. Could of been added or then again it could be para militaria, civic or school related.
