    Random Japanese stuff.....

At least I think it is all Japanese.....not really sure about the helmet, I was told it was and it sure looks like it might be one of those civil defense type ones w/o the hood. It is very light appears to be cast....FWIW....

Um your kidding right...this is Japanese militaria gold. I'm certainly not one in the "loop" but I don't know if I have ever seen or heard of a "Kiska" grenade with a label or a pottery grenade with the fuse intact. Have these items been demilled/dewat? The Knee mortar rounds and grenades look untouched since the war.

Be very careful the grenades look live. The porcelain one is for sure live. The guns also look live. I hope the machine guns were registered.

Yep, they are transferable. But I appreciate the concern.

The MK19 behind them is a post sample though.....

That helmet looks look like an M35 though.

              Nice items, thanks for sharing!

The 4th in the pic w/ the spade grips? That is a MK19 40mm automatic grenade launcher.....

It is a post sample/SOT/dealer only item though....

All the ord is inert, the ceramic nade was evidently part of a batch that had the explosive filler and the "fuze assembly" removed. They then replaced the stopper and dipped it in wax or something to re-make it as accurate as possible. The previous owner told me this was done in the early 50's...

The helmet is definately one of the myriad of different types of civil defence helmets put out by the Japanese throughout the war years and is indeed based on the German m35. It is also one of the rarer ones encountered(I suppose to supplement the other amazing items you have here) The several that I have had(all aquired in Japan) were always made of some type of 'pot metal alloy. This one looks like it is thinner skinned. Be curious to know what it is made of. Nice score.

Thanks for the great info, I know almost nothing about helmets, Japanese or otherwise, but I am learning as much as I can thanks to sites like this and the members.

I am not sure what it is made of either but I definately get the "pot metal" feel just from handeling it. It is also very light IMO.

As you can see everything was pretty much covered in dust.....
