I would leave alone it looks to me like CHINEASE repro.

As stated this is not an historical item. It is simply a modern "decorative" piece, that has nothing to do with Japan, WWII, or Samurai anything.

yes, I thought so, too.

The seller presented a nice story, where it was found and why it was left there from the Japanese, but the quality tells another story!

id definitly stay away! its definitly chinese repro junk...i always find it amusing the stories added to items off the sellers top of his head...some can be very laughable...for kicks could you tell us what the story was about the provenance of this sword?

Hi,

story is short:

"The place, where this japanese Samurai EM-sword was found, is Borneo. It was left there by japanese troops during WW II."

Asking price is around 300 US$.
