    Gi art work on japanese helmet

    Here is a helmet i am debating on purchasing , the price is high imo but i have a soft spot for art work on japanese helmets , any opinions are welcome

        That is a pretty nice helmet shell you said the price was kinda high. What is the asking price ?

          The guy wants 550.00 $ for the helmet .no liner i think it is a bit high, what say you ?

            Way too high. It's a civil defense helmet shell worth maybe $15 without the liner and chinstrap. I'm not sure the inscription would be worth an additional $535

              I agree with Blinky's assessment. I also think that artwork be it period or not detracts from the value. This is just my opinion. There are people who like it and people who do not. I like any item just like they would have been worn or used by the Japanese sailor/soldier.

                I agree with Scott. My collecting goal for headgear is one salty, issued example & one mint. G.I. art doesn't interest me personally. I don't feel it adds to the value of the helmet/cap. I would need 110% , iron clad provenance to asure the painted helmet wasn't post war, VFW or a notorious Seabee for trade item.
