    What is this field cap?

heres a field cap with anchor insignia. it came with a SNLF (special naval landing force) tunic. the type material which is like a thin coarse wool cant be found in my references and there is no label inside. it has the anchor and wreath insignia which I think is the last 1945 issue officer insignia. however officers also had two black bands around the cap which this does not. there is a small stamp inside. I guess this could be a ' last ditch' version of a cap for an officer but in general, officer items were private purchase and well made even late war ones. more likely the insignia was added later but then what is the cap itself?

Even the very latest navy field caps had machine sewn insignias. The ink stamp is for medium size. I don't think cap is navy & it might not even be military.

Has anyone seen a field cap made from this type of material? And if its not military what other organizations would have used a ww2 japanese field cap style?
