I'm all ready for Santa this year. I figure if I bring the sled down, I can keep all the loot in that fancy bottomless bag of his!

              Ho ho ho...

                  Happy Holidays!

I would like to wish everyone on the Japanese Forum a happy and safe New Year! If anyone would like to let the rest of us know what Santa brought them, please feel free to add it here........
I received a terrific senninbari with the owner's unit history inscribed across the end of the belt. I also found a nice Good Luck Flag (imagine that!) with early Manchurian hanko and inscribed references in my stocking along with a few tangerines and some Rolos!!! The kids have already eaten most of the Rolos............Mike

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to all! Although I did not recieve any Japanese or US WWII Militaria for Christmas, I gave my two sons, ages 11 and 14, a Japanese T99 Rifle, (for the teenager) and a Mosin Nagant 91/30 Rifle for the younger one. He also recieved some WWII USMC patches, and a nice WWII issue USMC KA-BAR. They were thrilled! Strikingninth was also kind enough to send them some WWII goodies also. Scott is one of their "collector heros" and they always enjoy seeing pics of his things, including his awesome USMC Raider groupings. They both have budding WWII collections, including helmets, flags, patches, etc. I am thrilled that they have a sincere interest in following their Dad's passion, I just hope it doesn't become an addiction, like mine LOL! Happy Holidays!

                      Hi Todd-
Hey, we're all addicted! We just use places like the Forum to justify it!! Glad to hear your kids have taken up some of your interest. My son shows some promise in "this old stuff" but no passion as of yet. He is still young, however, and may catch the bug like his old man did eventually..........Happy New Year! mikeb

Hi Mike, it has only been in the last 2 years that their interest grew substantially. I suspect that when they become more interested in girls, that their interest may wane..such has been my downfall in the past Todd

                          Happy Holidays!

                          Hi Todd-
Military collectibles provide comfort on those cold winter nights when girls don't seem to be around..... ...but don't tell your son's that! ...and if my wife sees this, I am only kidding honey!! mikeb
