Can anybody tell me what this is, or it's significance? It's a star outline, it looks like it was punched into the leather of an IJA helmet I have. It's at the back of the helmet.

looks like I can finally give my first help on this site hehe...i posted my helmet and liner about a week ago and was told its actually the KANJI FOR SIZE LARGE. They put size in liner and helmet.
