    Japanese sword how old?

    Here is a sword i picked up recently, it has marks on both sides of the tang.
    Wish i could read japanese, can anyone help. Blade is 19 inchs... Erich

              Looks like a decent old blade, nice find! Is the temper line nice and clear? That means alot for the sword guys, is the cutting edge 19"? If so you have a washisaki(think I got it right) and not a Katana, but thats not bad. I can't read the tang for you unfortunatly but there are guys here that can and from that can give you a good idea of when it was made. What kind of mounts are on it and is the tsuba iron?

                The tsuba is copper and the other parts are blackend. A friend of mine
                said that the blackend parts are silver..Erich
