Japanese canteen

Hi friends ,

Please I need your help.
I bought a Japanese canteen , but the stopper is not wood or cork, has the same shape, but this manufactured with a material like rubber.
Someone can find out if it is correct ?, the look seems to have already many years.

sounds like a late war made canteen. towards the end of the war they even made the canteens themselves out of rubber.

Yes, it probably is a rubber stopper. Some of the late war canteens had these instead of wood. They can be kind of hard to find in good condition.

Rubber stoppers are fine. I once got a dozen of 'em from Mori's shop in Tokyo. Unissued and they were of black rubber. Hard as a rock.
