Anyone know anything about this compass. It came with a grouping of other Japanese items direct from the vet but he didn't know where the compass came from. He said mabey his brother who was in the S. Pacific also, but he was lost at sea in 1946 in a PB4Y-2 off Kodiak. Thanks, John

What you have is a type 98 Army aircraft compass, which was used on fighters such as the Oscar, Tojo, Tony, Frank and Ki-100. There were 3 manufacturers for this compass and this one is made by Toshiba.Comment
