Steve, anything navy seems to be more desirable ($$) than army. Sweaters are extremely rare!

Question about this WWII Japanese "sweater"

I think this has already been answered, but it is most definitely an Army Issue sweater. The markings on the inside of the flap is actually an Army Quartermaster Stamp, which has obviously become slightly faded and obscured through wear and washing most likely. These were standard issue in pretty large quantities especially in the China theater, but as mentioned are fairly hard to come by on the collector market. The IJA also issued Wool T-Shirts with similar stamps. Those are extremely rare. I saw one sell at a military show in Japan earlier this year for $1,200!
