Combat helmet question

Here's my first Japanese combat helmet shell, which is a favourite amongst my small Japanese collection so far. The colour is dark green, and most, if not all, that I have seen on the forum are the tan/brown colour. Were the different colours issued at different time periods, theatres or some other reason?

There were numerous different shades of paint used. Is your helmet same color inside?

Hi Jareth, yes same colour inside, it doesn't look like it has been repainted so I think it is likely the original colour. It has a reproduction liner in it, but has the original rivets and attachment rings. I can't see any writing inside, but there may be something under the liner.
