I would like to know exactly what this small banner was used for? Any idea what's written on it? This came with a bunch of US WWII Military Fieldgear that I purchased from a vet last year.

You are showing the reverse side of the flag so the writing got turned around, but it says "Light of Peace. 3706 meters above sea level. Comemorating arrival at the summit of Mt. Fuji". Perhaps you were supposed to write your name on it and tie it to some pole on the summit. Anyway, a tourist souvenir.Comment
