    1935 dated blue wool naval cap

    A very nice cap, but I cant see any date though. Were is the showa 10 date? The cap looks late to me.

      Late war? All navy caps were made a standardcolor green by late war. No season color changing. There were some green wool reissues also. White caps were dyed green as well. This cap has a felt anchor , not bevo like late war. The date is faded it doesn't show up in the photo well

        Sorry, I meant to say later, not late war. Anyway, I am still confused on that date. I thought that these type caps did not come out until 1938 for both the army and navy. Previous to that date I thought the navy used only the round cap?

          My research leads me to believe navy introduced field caps late in 1936-1937.

            There could be a kanji in front of the ten, that would make it showa 11 or 12 making it the date Jareth said. I need to take a glass to it
