My Saburo Sakai tribute collection...
So another interest of mine is picking up saburo sakai related items when I can. Gary started me off on this with a few pictures. Even though I began collection too late to seek him out and meet him in person, everything I've heard about him has let me to believe that he was a true soldier, gentleman, and a decent guy. From his duel over guadalcanal, and not firing upon a DC-17 full of kids, to vowing never to harm another thing after the war and the manner in which he past away, I think he's tops.
Anyhow, here's my little tribute collection. The helmets aren't related really, but based on the nimitz display, I put them in there.
