Japanese WW2 army helmet showa dated 16 = 1941. Helmet looks like it was repainted green. Chinstraps are missing.

I agree that it appears to have been repainted, but is it the photo that makes it look greenish? If it was repainted, I think it was done in the period.
It is almost impossible to find a complete set of original chinstraps, so this should be taken into consideration.

I wouldn't put over 250.00 in it. Be patient and spend your money on a helmet that will increase in value, not "too bad it's repainted and missing the chinstrap"

It's possible a camouflage repaint?

Could be a WW2 camo, solid color over paint. Some Asian countries painted their post war captured helmets a similar shade of green. Hard to say for certain.
