    Early navy cap study

I have looked through all of my books and have only came up with one photo of a two piece insignia early naval cap. Anybody that has photos or an actual cap would you please post the photos.

There was just a nice one on e-bay. The colorized one that went for it's starting price of $29.99. I was going to bid but have way to many things going right now. It was a small picture but still very nice.

Here is my early blue wool naval cap with two piece felt anchor. Dated November 1933. I Know your looking for pics of the Early NLF Field Caps but this is the type used by both Naval and NLF Sailors early in the China Campaign. Enjoy. Now If I could only get my hands on one of them Early NLF Field Caps LOL.

David & all this early blue cap was worn by both officers & enlistedmen. The green wool caps with two piece insignias are depicted in many photos. I think maybe even some you posted from your album? My guess is they didn't hold up well & were replaced. They are THE rarest field cap.

I was going to say good luck. Finding one of those (NLF) would be a personal victory for anybody. Advanced collectors included.

What would one in very nice condition be worth?

Beautiful. I don't have any kids, but I'll go out and have one to trade off if you're interested! If you have time, it would be nice to see a close-up shot of the material and anchor.

This would be the item that exemplifies the "whatever someone is willing to pay for it" saying IMO. It is scarry to think what one would bring if a really nice one landed on the bay tonight for a seven day auction. I have no idea what an honest value on one is.
