Just wondering if anyone made the SOS or had any photos, reports, updates, etc.

The were a few helmets in decent shape 800-900 6 boxes of mint 38 and 99 ammo I got a mint set of tankers goggles in the bottom part of the original box some mint tunics were around and some ammo pouches and belts. It was ok there might have been more there Wednesday night and Thursday I went Friday so I can't say what goodies got snatched up and as always it was great to see Eric, Dean ,John , Greg and I got to meet Mforce from ebay and Takehito "Edokko" from the forum it's worth the trip to hang out with this bunch for a day.

        The SOS

I was there for the Thursday opening and stayed until Saturday. There were at least 2 nice navy helmets (one with early anchor insignia and one stencil anchor.) There were also a couple of nice helmet covers and a net or two. A few fake helmets were also out there. I also saw a couple of army helmets as well. There were a number of signed flags, and some really unusual senninbari. I also saw a number of Japanese photo albums and there were plenty of loose photos. There was a fair amount of ordnance and a really "hammered" type 96 or 99 machine gun (it was cut and welded) for $800+ Many tables had bayonets and there were alot of swords too. It was good to see Eric, John, Dean, Ron and Bob Coleman. MikeB

I saw some interesting Japanese stuff and picked up a couple of decent sword knots for a reasonable amount of money. I thought most of the swords I saw were overpriced.

I did pick up a copy of Jim Dawson's new book, "Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945 Cyclopedia Edition" and got it signed by him. I recommend the book as it is lavishly printed in large format and all in color with 448 pages. One thing I talked to him about was his research and translation protocol and he did it right by going to the written regulations and having two translators on each translation.

Wow..Pricey, but definetly adds so much character to the whole Japanese mannequin theme.

A little too scarry for me. Hey at that price you could hire my local sushi chief to stand around in your living room.

Definitely pricey. In any event, does anyone have particulars, i.e. company/vendor, point of contact, etc.? Don't think I'd ever get the green light to spend that much on a mannequin. Still, that is one cool piece.
