        Joe, This sword was made by Ido Hidetoshi who worked in Seki, Gifu perfecture. Rated as a low to medium-grade smith. Jim

              I f the blade has no date on the reverse side, then no, it would not be possible to accurately date it. However, the presence of the Showa stamp indicates that it was made prior to early 42 when the usage of this stamp was discontinued and replaced by local manufacturing center stamps [ie; Seki]. I think a reasonable guess would be between 1934-1941. Hope this helps. Can you post a shot or two of the rest of the sword? Jim

                      Good-looking rig, thanks for the extra shots! I really like the swordbelt, does the scabbard fit thru the "holster" okay? The one I've got with that feature will only accept a small scabbard. Jim
