Japanese Flag Question...

Nick is right of course. This flag represents Korea. I have a great "Korean" flag that started its life as a Japanese flag. The owner took a pencil and made the red center into the Yin and Yang symbol of the Korean flag. They then added the four black bar character or Trigrams in ink to the corners. Unfortunately, they did not get the proper order of the Trigrams and they are not in their appropriate corners.
The Korean flag is called Tae-Kuk-Ki which when translated means "Flag of Great Extremes." The Yin and Yang symbol within the circle represents "Duality" while the circle represents the "People." The white background represents the "Land." Taken together, the Trigrams represent the "Government." Individually, the Trigrams stand for: "Water, Fire, Heavan, and Earth." MikeB
