Japanese Sword tassle?

Hello,

I well out of my area of collecting here so I though I might stop by for a little information.

This tassle was on a Japanese NCO sword, but I don't think it belongs there.

I was wondering if anyone new who or what this thing goes to. Maybe it goes to the NCO sword, but I have never seen one before.

Tassle

The tassle goes on an officers shingunto model sword, when issued it was gold on one side and a nice blue on the inside of the straps.

Blades are nice and clean with no rust or pitting.

Bob is very kind with his "well worn" description. The tassel is broken and should appear as the one that Ian shows.
