Gadzooks!! 4 in a little over a year for sale on Ebay. Really makes you wonder what still lurks in the closets, attics, etc.

Yep I noticed it .... what are peoples thoughts on all the para helmets turning up ...any bad ones or have they all been ok?

Your sarcasm aside, based on the other 3 real ones that were sold on Ebay, this one does appear to be original and untouched. I have never personally handled one, but the seller, tokyorose1, Reto Kleinpeter, has a fantastic Japanese headgear collection, which includes several original IJA Para helmets, and is a very experienced, and knowledgable Japanese headgear collector. It sure looks like a GOOD lid to me! Go ahead and make fun of Ebay, but I have aquired, and seen sold in the last 10 years, dozens of FANTASTIC WWII Japanese helmets. I challenge anyone to tell where more good IJA, NLF high end helmets have been sold in the last 10 years. Its not too difficult to separate the fake/crap from the really good.

This is a bad one. Insignia is dubious. It's mounted too high on helmet. Late army liner with three leather sectioned pads is incorrect & who knows what else is wrong until it's side by side with another or in hand. When a rare items sells extremely high it usually brings out other examples. My experience & opinion of the seller is 100 degrees opposite.

Jareth is right this is bad, with terrible artificial aging!!!
I was told that the liners were army and early war 41' -42' and known examples have brass anchors. Hmmm an established dealer and collector posting a $10,000 + helmet with no reserve and next to no start price makes me wonder

The bad insignia caught my eye I seen one on Snyders militaria site I was shocked at who was selling it.

Yeah don't be shocked. I emailed the seller & politely asked if he knew the helmet was fake. If I know him, expert that he is, I doubt I'll get a response.
