Japanese Ordinance/Munitions?

Can you tell me what this is.........small mortar round or what? I used to just pick up Japanese stuff now and again, but never did have any books or information about it. Does this kind of stuff have any value presently?

Type 89 "Knee" mortar shell dated 1943. This is the one item of Japanese round that seems to turn up all over the place....that being said the prices on them seem to be going up. You have a nice looking shell, better than most of them you find now
