Japanese Uniform and Equipment Reference ???

I have recently decided to start collecting items for a Japanese Army display, and I was looking for a decent book for reference. Any suggestions? I am totally ignorant of Japanese items, and I would like to learn the basics before I start buying.

    Thanks!

If you don't want to spend a whole lot of money, you might want to start with the Osprey books.
As you progress in your collecting, and want more detail and info, you can get something better and more expensive.
I believe Schiffer has an excellent book on Imperial Japanese uniforms, weapons, and equippment, but I forget the name of the title and author. Costs about $60, if I remember correctly.

      Japanese Uniform and Equipment Reference????

The Schiffer book was written by Mike Hewitt and can be found listed for sale on eBay. It is called, Uniforms and Equipment of the Imperial Japanese Army in World War 2. Nakata's book on Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms and Equipment is also a great basic book. Mike

Does Hewitts book have color photos, and descriptions of gear? I have the Schiffer book on WW1 French, and its mostly original photos with bad descriptions. I am looking for something that has nice photos of uniforms, and gear (in color) with good descriptions.

Plenty of pretty, color pictures as well as period photos of the uniforms & equipment in wear.
