    WWII Japanese Sword Markings

    Hi All,
I noticed a lot of IJA swords have these ink markings on them.Sometimes they are in blue or red and have crosses and numbers.

Any idea what they are suppose to mean?

these are assembly numbers and should match the numbers on your mounts,
tsuba (handguard) and seppa (spacers) for example
