I too was watching that auction (if it is the one I am thinking of), but probably wouldn't have been able to bid any way right now. It seemed to me that belt loop strap, on the left side of the tunic, was a later addition. I have been watching NLF items for a long time on ebay. The last year or so every single nice or promising NLF uniform, etc. is yanked before the end of the auction. I have just come to expect it. I personally believe ebay is still one of the best places to find Japanese militaria, but I don't think it is going to be fair. I have been collecting militaria for 22 years and in my experience fairness is not what I've come to expect from some in this hobby. I still get angry about things like this, but I ask myself why I still have the expectation that people are going to be "nice," or fair, or not be cutthroat (certain dealers), or not abide by the "social contract." I don't know if I would blame the guy who contacted the seller, it's really the seller who's "breaking the rules," right? Contacting the seller before the close of auction is just something that's done now I guess (notice all the disclaimers popping up about on auctions). Just be aware of it, as others have said it's just part of the game now. Zach

3 buttons v 4 buttons
I just want to say that I hope for everyone that it was a TRUE N.L.F. tunic & not a green navy tunic. Yes, N.L.F. shared with navy but only a three button front tunic is N.L.F.
