Help with strap indentification

I have two Japanese WW2 straps that I just picked up. They are each 55 inches long and have 5 holes punched into them. They also each have two loops, one stitched and one free floating. My first though was early naval canteen straps. Thanks in advance for the help. Martin

Next to impossible to know 100% what there for. My guess would be "equipment" straps especially with the rollers on buckles.
