    Dagger

I guess I got "ripped" pretty good back when I bought this........many years ago, don't remember how many, where or who. I think I paid about $20, and found out later that all the guys were saying not worth more than $10. I don't know anything really about Japanese stuff, but I think someone told me it was a lower quality Naval dagger. I guess the emblem on the top of the pommel is badly damaged. What can you tell me about this item?

    Thanks,
    Ron

    Ron-
Standard Issue Naval Officer's Dirk. If They Were Worth $10 At The Time You Bought It, That Had To Be A Very Long Time Ago.

It was...........I don't remember when it was, but a nice Heer or LW dagger was bringing about $25-30 around the time I bought it.

sounds as though you bought this in the late 60's. At this point, I think you can recoup your investment

Yes, but $20 now doesn't have the value of $20 back then. I am sure it was no more recent than the 60's when I got it in all likelihood.
