    Japanese NCO Swords

Anyone collect these things? I have a couple of them with handles that seem to be made of solid copper (unpainted). Both have very low serial numbers 1,102 and 2,348. One is mint and the other is a combat vet with scabbard cover and sword knot. I assume the copper handled ones are rarer and earlier than the more common aluminum alloy. Any idea how much more these would be worth than say a $325 aluminum NCO?

I think the copper are the earliest, then aluminm, then horrible wooden ones.

      Chris,
A copper handled NCO sword just sold on eBay for $1,270. It even had a dinged-up blade. Early serial number in the 2,000 range. I think that's a record. The aluminum ones go for $300-$350. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...ndexURL=0&rd=1
