This is my first attempt to "upload" anything so a thousand apologies if it doesn't work out. I have a cigarette case in my collection which purports to be a gift from a Japanese Commander to another fellow officer? I couldn't get the picture of the characters to come out so I have attempted to write it out , I hope this works. If anyone can translate it for me I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance. Zach

I'm so Ignorant when it comes to computer stuff
Ok, so I can't figure out how to get the pictures smaller (sorry) and you can't even see the Kanji inside of the case . I'm going to break down and get a digital camera soon so maybe I can get better at this. Anyway if someone can translate my chicken scratch "radicals" I would be very grateful. Best Regards, Zach

You did well with your chicken scratching, because I could read it. So here's what you wanted and more. Dated 1923 May, a Yano received this from Kikuchi the Commander of the Japanese Forces, Korea. This was General Shinnosuke Kikuchi, born 1866 Feb. died 1927 Aug. He received his Golden Kite 3rd class on April Fools of 1906, served as Commander in Korea from 24th Nov 1922 and made General on Aug 6th 1923. He was an Inft General.
