Late WWII Japanese NCO Sword Question

    Hello
Could anyone help me with this?
I want to remove the aluminum handle from an NCO sword.
I removed the only screw I can see, and the blade will not budge.
    Any help would be great.
    Many Thanks!
    Anthony

    Good question

    Hi,
I also have wondered if these handles were removable. Be patient, someone will know.

Anthony don't remove the handle .
I have seven NCO's,but I never tried to
      take them apart.
It's just a machine made blade so
your not going to make an astounding
      discovery.

        Hi
You have to remove the second screw ,its at the kabutogane ,where the sarute is mounted. You need to remove sarute first.(be careful)

Heres a picture of my late war NCO shingunto.

          Anthony,

I would not dismantle the sword. As Johnny says, there is nothing to see as it has a machine made blade. Most of the damage done to Japanese swords over the years seems to be due to folks taking them apart and making them loose or buggering up the screws, pins, etc. I would leave well enough alone as you won't discover anything you don't already know.
