Japanese marine helmet, with some kanji markings!
Always hard to tell with the nets if they are period or not..

However, I killer lid! These Japanese helmets are increasing in value!

Nice late war Japanese yellow stencil anchor helmet! Net is not your typical variant & to be honest it's kind of iffy. The drawstring should be made of same guage/thickness string as rest of net. You should also post this on the Japanese boards.

                    Gentlemen-
With All Due Respect, The Use Of The Term "Jap" Is Offensive And Derogatory. There Is No Difference In The Use Of This Word Than Any Other Derogatory Word For A Certain Race Or Ethnic Group. I Would Ask That You Modify The Title And The Posts.
                    Thank You In Advance.

I'll second that. This post belongs on the JAPANESE boards...after the edits.

Thank you for correcting my title.

The netting is not issue helmet net , this was made out of some other netting
material. I Have no question of period done , the netting has been there for along time . There is wear marks on the paint from the knots of the net. When it 's in your hand, it " TALKS ".

I will try to get pics of this .

I did forget to mention the grass in the net. Years ago it had quite a bit more , but its really fragil and brakes off . My friend would pick it up and put it in the back of liner just to save it. I 've not looked to see if its still there , but the one bit on the net is the last of it.The string holding the net is made out of three peices tied together all of same type material.
