Japanese book? need help with what is

I found this book and I think it is Japanese. I have scanned the front page and first page of the index. If you can read Japanese would you tell me what the book is?

Well ... it would be easier to read if you scanned it right side up!!

        Kyou-Ren (Hohei Hou)
        Military Drill (Infantry Canon)

        Hohei Chutai
        Infantry Artillery Battalion

        Ishibashi Sho-i
        Ishibashi 2nd Lieutenant

Ishibashi is a common name and literally means "Stone Bridge".

The table of contents cover the usual training objectives:
        Ch. 1 -- Kihon Basics
Ch. 2 -- Taikei Battle Formation

        Etc.

        Cheers,

Well that shows how much I know. So it is a book from the war. Thanks for the help.

But which war? Japanese publication data are on the last page, normally with some red "chop" stamps (this would be the first page if you opened it like an English language book).

If you can find and scan the page I can tell you when it was published. It could be for a howitzer like this 70mm gun below:

Who knows .... it could be Meiji era (Russo-Japanese war) manual.

I have a photo of my father-in-law standing next to a small howitzer similar to this -- just back from field training while attending the Officer's Academy. He was Infantry, but I never understood why he was involved with artillery .... now I understand.
