Japanese sword ???

Hello I recently got three short swords at an auction for my son for christmas. Ive looked on the net for info but cant find out what I want to know. Can any one please help me ?I posible I would like to know when it was made , posibly who made it . Thank you for any info or opinions Dav.

There is little that can be determined from your images except for the fact that what you have shown are a tsuba(sword guard)and a handle less the handle wrap and menuki. It is Japanese. However more detailed photos would be necessary to even get to a point of begining.
