Is it the wooden handled one which has no fuller?.

I once had a side mounted catch model which someone had painted entirely over in thick gold enamel (probably Testors model paint). Lots of nail polish remover (acetone) and rubbing took off the gold and revealed a minty painted finish. Wish I had held on to that one.

                            Johnny,

                            A wonderful group of swords!

These NCO swords used to be looked down upon as just so much machine made trash by many sword collectors. Of course any of the wartime swords are still the bastard step-child to some Japanese sword collectors who would not stoop down to pick up anything but an "old sword." I think you are a very smart collector who has specialized in a very neat area of collecting.

I like these so-called later or "modern" swords too. My main interest is in tha machine made "police" swords but I can certainly appreciate your collection that shows quite a few variations on the theme. Thanks for showing them!

Nothing in the world compares to an old, well-crafted, pre-Meiji era Katana, BUT, these WWII-era swords have value in their own right. Afterall, who knows what kind of action these blades saw? And, the NCOs or officers who carried them probably had just as much "warrior spirit" as the samurai who fought at Sekigaraha or Kawanakajima!
Very nice collection. Thank you so much for sharing the photos with us.
